New York, NY – [September 25, 2025]Grow Therapy (Grow), a mental health platform empowering providers to deliver exceptional in-person and online therapy and psychiatric care, today announced that it acquired Neosync, a company specializing in data privacy and security. This move builds on Grow’s existing strong privacy protections by advancing its anonymization technology. With Neosync’s expertise, Grow will set a higher standard for safety-first analytics.

“At Grow Therapy, we understand that behind every bit of data is a person’s story, and protecting that story is something we treat with the utmost seriousness,” said Aaltan Ahmad, Head of Security. “We have strong and established privacy standards, and bringing on the Neosync team allows us to drive advancements that will reverberate across the mental health care sector.”

“We chose Grow because of their commitment to data privacy. Joining Grow allows us to bring Neosync’s data anonymization and synthetic data technology into mental health care at scale. With our platform, we can create completely anonymized datasets that preserve confidentiality while supporting research and innovation,” said Evis Drenova, Neosync Co-Founder and now Staff Product Manager at Grow. “This approach brings modern privacy engineering practices, like masking and synthetic data generation, direct to the healthcare workflow. Safe-by-default data and analytics governance provides realistic inputs for testing and machine learning without accessing personal health information.”

Leveling Up Privacy

A recent survey of Grow’s clients showed that privacy is a top consideration when accessing mental health care, second only to a seamless and convenient experience. Grow’s industry-leading practices ladder up to three critical principles that deliver on both fronts.

  1. Trustworthy Innovation: Grow Therapy drives progress with privacy at its core. Features like Between-Session Reflections help clients explore therapeutic writing, with themes shared with their providers only when they choose.
  2. Strong Data Safeguards: Client data protection is central. Grow removes personal details and uses synthetic data models to improve care and the client experience while preventing exposure of individual records.
  3. Consent First: Tools such as Grow’s AI-assisted draft notes and client visit summaries activate only with clear consent from both client and therapist. Participation is optional, and Grow’s system does not retain the raw transcript of any conversations between therapists and clients long-term.

Why This Matters Now

Stigma and fear of exposure remain significant barriers to mental health care in the US. Being an intentional leader in security and privacy is not just a technical requirement for Grow, it is essential to its mission of expanding access to high-quality care.

Confidentiality has always been a cornerstone of mental health care. But that standard is increasingly threatened by the rise of generic chatbots and health apps where no such commitments exist. As Grow advances its own AI capabilities, it is committing to hold its AI models to the same standards as clinical practice.

With the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) approaching its 30th anniversary in 2026, the law was not designed with today’s digital realities in mind. Grow believes privacy and security are areas ripe for innovation, and by raising its own standards, the company hopes to model best practices that can guide smarter governance across both the public and private sector.
