Hi, I’m Catherine! I'm the kind of therapist that feels like talking with a friend. It's important to me that therapy doesn't feel too intimidating or scary - I want you to feel safe, supported, and understood while doing challenging yet rewarding work.
My approach is using the lens of Polyvagal Theory, which means I focus on your nervous system and help you understand the different states of your nervous system and how to interpret the signals your body sends you to then meet your emotional and psychological needs. I also use person-in-environment (PIE) where we will look at how the environments you are exposed to play a role in your mental and emotional state because a lot of what we humans experience is appropriate responses to things we experience - therapy with me is learning how to move through those responses. A lot of the work is about finding safety within your body and gaining confidence by aligning with who you truly are.
I’m originally from Nashville but now call New York City home. When I’m not with clients, I’m usually reading, wandering around the city, or at a Yankees game. And on occasion, my cats will join our sessions!

I have always been drawn to the healing arts and the introspective work that can be found through psychotherapy, creative arts, writing/journaling, and yoga. I have been learning and engaging in these practices since 1998. It has been a lifelong passion of mine to bring these therapeutic modalities together to support the whole person so that my clients can discover their personal path to healing and live a more balanced, peaceful life.
