I work remotely with clients in New York, New Jersey & North Carolina. Oftentimes, even the strongest and most resilient need a helping hand. If you're feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, angry, sad or simply feeling unlike yourself, maybe it's time you take the hand of someone else to help get you back to feeling like yourself again. Therapy can be intimidating, time consuming and even scary however I promise it is the best investment you can ever make in yourself.
I like to allow my clients to lead the initial session. While intakes can be daunting and vulnerable, my goal is to begin providing a comfortable and safe environment for you to be able to speak to those difficulties you're facing. Further detail can be collected as time goes on, as needed, however initially, I like to cover your reason for coming into care, overall expectations, history (as comfortable) and a general sense of your goals. In this approach, I feel it allows my client to get a feel for me, as their potential clinician, and gauge whether that initially feels comfortable to continue on.
I offer a genuine but realistic approach to therapy. I am person-centered and while my role is to sometimes test comforts, there is a time and a place, I will always meet my client where they're at and work towards goals at a pace that feels realistic and achievable for them.
20 yrs. experience with adults, couples, adolescence/at-risk youth, crisis mngmt., residential placement, domestic violence, emergency housing, shelter &/or court involvement, substance abuse etc. Trained in Moral Reconation Therapy, Strengthening Family's & Trauma Informed Care, EMDR, Gottman Theory.
