Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois and Maine. I have experience working with clients in crisis with severe mental illness to adults experiencing depression and anxiety with chronic complex medical conditions. Coping with life challenges is not something you have to go through alone. Many people seek therapy for support, information, and new ideas on how to better handle the curve balls that life can throw sometimes. I believe that human beings are incredibly resilient and sometimes need assistance in recognizing their own inner strength to create positive changes in their lives. The therapeutic relationship should be collaborative, built upon both mutual respect and independence, and I hope to empower my clients to find opportunities for personal growth so that they can move forward with their goals. I have been a great support to those experiencing significant changes in their lives such as new medical diagnosis or crisis events. Be proud of making this step forward toward your best self. I have always wanted to help people and have been happy to lend an ear or a shoulder to anyone in my path who has ever wanted or needed that. Since adolescence I have been a natural therapist to those around me working my way to where I am now, and I couldn't be happier doing this work. We all need someone to talk to who can help us navigate some of life's challenges. Sometimes we are lucky enough to have a friend or loved one who can give us what we need, but sometimes we need a different perspective or a neutral ear. It is important to know that you don't have to do it alone. If you are feeling overwhelmed by life or struggling to work through some difficulties on your own, support is a helpful and a good thing to seek and accept. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. My goal is to provide an overall experience where you feel comfortable, welcomed and supported in this part of the journey. I use a trauma-informed connection and compassion focused, client lead, strengths based, talk therapy approach. I incorporate evidence based modalities such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, relaxation techniques and structured grief work. Come as you are, I will affirm you and support you in being your most authentic self. The healing journey is personal, non-linear and can feel overwhelming. One of my favorite quotes about therapy is “Therapy is a gift. It is a chance to finally be heard, understood and supported.” If you are ready to take this step and gift this to yourself, I am ready to unconditionally hear and hold your experiences with you on this journey.

My approach is direct and action focused. I want to find the most efficient way to retrain your brain and try something new! Welcome! I'm Lisa. First, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards working on improving your mental health. I know starting therapy can be scary and empowering at the same time. During sessions, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to their mental health including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, parenting challenges and everyday stressors. I focus on helping clients develop new strategies and boundaries in order to help improve their quality of life. I’m a licensed therapist with over 18 years of experience helping adults navigate burnout, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. I work with high-functioning individuals who often appear to have it together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck beneath the surface. Many of my clients are used to pushing through, taking care of others, and managing everything on their own—until it stops working. They come to me looking for more than just coping strategies. They want to understand what’s driving their patterns and experience real, lasting change. My approach integrates EMDR, parts work, and nervous system-focused therapy to help you move beyond surface-level solutions. Together, we work to reduce overwhelm, process unresolved experiences, and shift the patterns that keep you feeling stuck. The impact of this work is more than symptom relief. Clients often begin to feel calmer, more grounded, and clearer in their decisions. They develop a stronger sense of self, improved boundaries, and a greater ability to navigate stress without becoming overwhelmed. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to make meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t have to keep doing this alone—change is possible, and it can feel more sustainable than you might expect.

Much of the human experience is shaped by relationships and attachment. Our early attachment experiences influence how we connect, communicate, and relate to others throughout life. When these patterns no longer serve us, they can create distress and disconnection in our relationships. I work with people from all walks of life who want to better understand their attachment patterns, break unhelpful cycles, challenge limiting core beliefs, and improve communication. My goal is to support meaningful change that fosters healthier, more secure, and fulfilling relationships. I am a holistic, person-centered marriage and family therapist with specialized training in attachment theory and relational healing. I support individuals, couples, and families who struggle to feel understood, express emotions, or have their needs met, helping foster safety, connection, and meaningful change. My approach is rooted in the belief that connection is at the heart of healing. When individuals feel seen, heard, and valued, they are better able to access their strengths, build insight, and create meaningful change. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences without judgment and with genuine curiosity. I work collaboratively with clients, recognizing them as the experts of their own lives. Together, we identify patterns, strengthen communication, and develop practical tools that support healthier relationships with others and with oneself. I also believe in the resilience and capacity for growth within every person and family. Even in moments of disconnection, pain, or uncertainty, there is opportunity for repair, understanding, and transformation. My role is not to direct, but to guide, to help clients reconnect with their values, deepen their relationships, and move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life.

Hello, my name is Bernard Scott, and I live in Boston Massachusetts. I attended Boston Public Schools, attended Boston University for my bachelor's degree, Simmons University for my master's degree, and Southern California School of Professional Studies where I received my Doctorate (PsyD) in Counseling Psychology. I have been in this field for over 35 years and worked in a number of clinics, hospitals in Boston and Brockton. I enjoy helping people find their inner strength and work through those subconscious unresolved issues from the past so that the individual can finally be free from childhood traumas, past relationship issues ect. I strongly believe that between the developmental ages of 1 through 18 can and does affect who you are today and what ever happened to you between that time still has a hold on you today at the ages of 20, 30 50, etc. Getting rid of all that hurt, anger, trauma, etc. so that you can address it, work through it, come to terms with it and ultimately leave it all behind, and unload it.

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Yes! If you use EAP:UnitedHealthcare/Optum you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have EAP:UnitedHealthcare/Optum you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
