Having been impacted by social economic and community issues Jermain L Wright created his practice out of a desire to be in service to others. Jermain's approach focuses on creating opportunities for personal growth, restorative health, and emotional healing. Jermain is born in raised in the Philadelphia region and spent the first half of his life living in the South Philadelphia region. As a child, Jermain was exposed to community violence, and an unstable home because of substance use, neglect, and extreme bullying. Through God’s grace Jermain was able to overcome his emotional challenges and went on to serve in the United States Army for over 6 years. Initially and obtains two graduate-level degrees in counseling. Jermain sought to have a career in enforcement; however, in the year of 2011, Jermain’s father passed away from heart disease that was triggered by long-term use of substances. Thus, out of tragedy Jermain developed the desire to want to become well-versed in the conditions negatively impacting the development of his community from a clinical orientation by working toward obtaining a professional license in Counseling. Jermain is clinically trained by the Beck Institute and certified to provide cognitive behavior therapy. Jermain also has specialized training in treating PTSD and is a certified practitioner of Exposure therapy certified by The center for treatment and study of anxiety disorders. Jermain also provides clinical supervision for students seeking to become licensed and clinical supervision to individuals seeking to become certified practitioners of exposure therapy. JW counseling and consultation is in year one of providing services; however, Jermain hopes to be a premier provider of mental health and behavioral health services for years to come.
