I thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I have worked in health care since January 2006. I know that the healthcare field is a calling, and one of my life missions is to impact others positively. I went explicitly into psychiatry because, during high school I felt there were only a few subjects I could apply to everyday life. Everything starts with the mind, and as the famous quote states, “I think therefore I am.” First are the thoughts, whether conscious or unconscious, then feelings, i.e., emotions, and then actions. Thoughts, feelings, and actions encompass our daily lives and must be in harmony or as close to balance for everyone in order for us to live up to our full potential. I have worked as a certified nurse assistant and understand the necessity of working hard to provide for myself and my family. In addition, I have worked as a registered nurse in the hospital setting helping to heal those who have suffered from heart attacks, strokes, amputations, blindness, diabetes, sickle cell, cancer, motor vehicle accidents, etc. With this acquired experience, knowledge and understanding I have concluded that life is fragile. Thus, it is important to live each day to the best of our ability. Uniquely, I have been a family nurse practitioner and worked in primary care and urgent care. Thus, I understand and can treat hypertension, diabetes, back pain, hypothyroidism, common skin conditions, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, and much more. I specialize in psychiatry and see patients 18 years and older. Initial visits are one hour, and follow-up appointments are a half hour. This reduces the need to rush and allows us to be as comprehensive as possible to provide the best mental health care possible. The goal and vision are to work with you and to establish a positive relationship in which I recommend various treatments. Still, it’s done in partnership and collaboration to assist you with becoming the best version of yourself. It would be my privilege and honor to serve as your mental health provider. I have worked in the hospital setting helping to heal those who have suffered from heart attacks, strokes, amputations, diabetes, cancer, motor vehicle accidents, etc. With this acquired experience, knowledge and understanding I have concluded that life is fragile.
