(she/her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, burnout, ADHD, trauma, and major life transitions. My background includes work in medical settings, hospice and palliative care, residential treatment, and outpatient therapy, which has given me a strong understanding of how emotional health is impacted by real-life stressors, caregiving responsibilities, and health-related challenges. Many of the individuals I work with are high-functioning and used to managing a great deal in their personal or professional lives. Over time, this level of responsibility can lead to chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, and difficulty maintaining balance. Clients often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, mentally drained, or frustrated that what used to feel manageable no longer does. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and better understand what is contributing to your current challenges. My approach is both compassionate and practical, helping you develop tools to manage stress, improve focus, and navigate life in a way that feels more sustainable.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to managing things on your own. The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other in a way that feels comfortable and collaborative. We will start by talking about what has been bringing you to therapy. This might include feeling overwhelmed, burned out, anxious, or noticing that something that once felt manageable no longer does. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to start—part of my role is to help guide the conversation in a way that feels supportive and not overwhelming. We will also explore some background information, including current stressors, important life experiences, and what you have already been doing to cope. This helps us begin to identify patterns that may be contributing to how you’re feeling and what areas we may want to focus on moving forward. Throughout the session, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and not judged. You can share at your own pace, and there is no expectation to go into more detail than you feel comfortable with. We will also begin to talk about what you would like to be different. This may include feeling less overwhelmed, improving focus, managing anxiety more effectively, or finding more balance in your day-to-day life. Together, we will start to shape a the direction for our work that aligns with your needs and goals. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer sense of how I work, what therapy with me may look like, and whether it feels like a good fit. You are always encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and be an active part of the process.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to balance compassion with a practical, results-focused approach. I work to create a space where clients feel genuinely understood and supported, while also helping them develop tools they can apply in their daily lives. Many of the individuals I work with are high-functioning and used to managing significant responsibility, yet feel overwhelmed, burned out, or mentally exhausted. I have a strong ability to recognize the patterns that contribute to this and help clients better understand what is driving their stress, anxiety, or difficulty maintaining balance. My background across medical, hospice, residential, and outpatient settings has also given me a unique perspective on how emotional wellbeing is influenced by real-life stressors, including demanding careers, caregiving roles, and health-related challenges. This allows me to meet clients where they are and tailor my approach in a way that feels relevant and effective. I focus on helping clients gain clarity, improve emotional regulation, and develop sustainable strategies that support long-term wellbeing. Progress often includes feeling less overwhelmed, thinking more clearly, and building confidence in managing challenges more effectively.
I work best with adults who are used to managing a great deal of responsibility in their personal or professional lives, yet are beginning to feel overwhelmed, burned out, or mentally exhausted. Many of my clients are high-functioning and capable, but find that something that once felt manageable no longer does. Clients often come to therapy experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, difficulty concentrating, or a sense of feeling stretched too thin. Some are navigating ADHD-related challenges, life transitions, or the emotional impact of caregiving and medical stress. Others may feel disconnected from themselves or unsure how to regain a sense of balance. I am particularly well positioned to support individuals who want both understanding and practical tools. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and motivated, but have spent so much time meeting the needs of others that they have not had space to focus on their own wellbeing. In our work together, clients are often looking to feel less overwhelmed, improve focus, manage anxiety more effectively, and develop sustainable ways to navigate daily life. I help clients build clarity, strengthen emotional regulation, and feel more confident in managing responsibilities without becoming depleted.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a core part of my work, particularly when helping clients manage anxiety, stress, burnout, and ADHD-related challenges. CBT focuses on understanding how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and how certain patterns can contribute to feeling overwhelmed or stuck. In my approach, CBT is not rigid or overly structured. I use it in a way that feels practical and applicable to real-life situations. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, increase awareness of how they impact your emotions and responses, and begin to shift those patterns in a way that feels more balanced and manageable. I also focus on helping clients develop concrete tools they can use outside of sessions, such as improving self-talk, managing stress more effectively, and responding to challenges with greater clarity. My goal is to make CBT feel approachable and useful, so it becomes something you can integrate into your daily life rather than something that only exists within therapy sessions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients better manage intense emotions, reduce overwhelm, and respond to stress more effectively. DBT focuses on building practical skills in areas such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. In my approach, DBT is used in a flexible and realistic way. Rather than feeling structured or overwhelming, we focus on learning and applying specific skills that are most relevant to what you are experiencing. This is especially helpful for clients who feel emotionally overloaded, reactive, or mentally exhausted. I work with you to build awareness of emotional patterns while also developing tools that can be used in real time—whether that’s managing anxiety, navigating difficult situations, or improving communication and boundaries. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your responses, less overwhelmed by emotions, and more confident in handling challenges as they arise.
Grief Therapy
I have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating grief and loss, including through my work in hospice and medical settings. I understand that grief is not a linear process and can show up in many different ways, including emotional, physical, and cognitive responses. My approach to grief work is compassionate, patient, and individualized. I provide a space where you can process your experience at your own pace, whether that involves loss of a loved one, anticipatory grief, changes in health, or other significant life transitions. In addition to processing the emotional aspects of grief, I also support clients in managing the impact grief can have on daily functioning, such as difficulty concentrating, fatigue, or feeling disconnected. Together, we work to make sense of your experience, find ways to stay grounded, and gradually adjust to life in a way that feels meaningful and manageable. My goal is not to “move past” grief, but to help you carry it in a way that feels less overwhelming and more integrated into your life.
Humanistic
I incorporate a humanistic approach to therapy, which focuses on understanding your unique experiences and supporting you as a whole person. I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and change, especially when provided with a supportive, non-judgmental space. My approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect. I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable being open about what you’re experiencing, while also helping you build insight and develop practical tools to navigate challenges. In our work together, we focus on increasing self-awareness, strengthening your sense of self, and identifying what feels meaningful and aligned with your values. This approach is especially helpful for individuals who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. My goal is to support you in feeling more grounded, understood, and confident as you navigate your life in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
Integrative
I use an integrative approach to therapy, which means I draw from multiple evidence-based methods to tailor treatment to your specific needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. This allows our work together to be flexible, responsive, and relevant to what you are experiencing. I often incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based strategies. Depending on your goals, we may focus on understanding patterns, building practical coping skills, improving emotional regulation, or developing more effective ways to manage stress and daily challenges. This approach is especially helpful for individuals who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure of what they need, as it allows us to adapt as we go and focus on what is most helpful in the moment. My goal is to provide a balanced approach that combines insight with practical tools, so you can feel more clear, grounded, and confident in navigating your life.
