Laura Mauger
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting teens and adults through life’s many phases. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, boundaries, and burnout. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and empowering—focused on helping you build resilience, heal from past experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change. I specialize in maternal mental health and wellness, reproductive trauma, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and support women from young adulthood through midlife and menopause. I believe every person has the capacity and freedom to create meaningful, positive changes in their life. In our work together, we will focus on identifying what you want to shift, heal, or grow, and take steps toward those goals through greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and practical strategies.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, supportive, and confidential space. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and any questions or concerns you may have. There’s no pressure to share everything right away—you’re welcome to go at a pace that feels right for you. I may also ask some background questions to better understand your experiences and what matters most to you. Together, we’ll start exploring your goals and think about how we can work toward them in a way that feels meaningful and manageable. And while we’ll cover important and sometimes difficult topics, I do like to bring in a touch of warmth and laughter along the way—because therapy can be both meaningful and human.

Ideal clients
My ideal clients are teens and women who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. They may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or questions about their identity and direction. Some may be adjusting to a new phase of life, such as adolescence, motherhood, or midlife, while others may be working through past experiences or patterns that no longer serve them. They don’t need to have everything figured out or even know exactly where to start—but they are open to exploring, growing, and trying new ways of relating to themselves and others. Whether they’re seeking support with boundaries, self-worth, emotional regulation, or communication, they’re willing to engage in the process with honesty and curiosity. Together, we create a supportive, collaborative space where they can feel safe to show up as they are, build self-trust, and move toward a more grounded, authentic, and fulfilling life.
Treatment methods
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness therapy helps you stay present and aware of your thoughts and feelings without judgment, rather than getting overwhelmed by them. It builds skills to respond more calmly and intentionally, improving emotional balance and well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we focus on practical tools that support emotional well-being and everyday life.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their strengths, build confidence, and navigate ambivalence about change in a supportive, nonjudgmental way. Together, we focus on strengthening your own motivation and aligning your actions with what matters most to you.
Strength-Based
I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relational approach, recognizing how both personal and systemic factors shape clients’ experiences. Our work together integrates mindfulness to help you stay grounded, manage stress, and respond more intentionally to challenges. Therapy is collaborative and empowering, with a focus on building self-trust, resilience, and confidence while supporting you in navigating life transitions, healing from past experiences, and living with greater balance and authenticity.
