What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

As an EMDR Trained therapist, I would welcome you to the first session with warmth and understanding. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. During the first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and establishing a foundation for our therapeutic relationship. This will involve discussing your reasons for seeking EMDR therapy, your history and current symptoms, and your expectations for treatment. I will also provide you with an overview of EMDR therapy, including its theoretical underpinnings and the standard eight-phase protocol. We will discuss the different types of bilateral stimulation techniques that can be used in EMDR, such as eye movements, hand tapping, and auditory tones.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are that I genuinely care about the amazing people I serve. I am also strong in listen to to the amazing people I get to work with, I can “between the lines,” so to speak and I have the gift of helping my clients have a felt sense of being heard, seen and feeling understood.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I help women find healing and empowerment through EMDR therapy, guiding them on a journey to nurture their mental and emotional well-being. By utilizing EMDR, I aim to assist women in overcoming the impact of past traumas, reducing anxiety and stress, and cultivating a newfound sense of clarity, calm, and confidence in their lives.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

"I have experience using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help individuals with PTSD and trauma-related symptoms. In my practice, I guide clients through structured sessions to help them challenge and change unhelpful beliefs connected to their traumatic experiences. This process allows clients to develop healthier perspectives, reduce distressing emotions, and move forward with greater control in their lives."

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

As a therapist, I’ve witnessed the powerful impact of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (M-CBT) on women’s wellness. This approach combines mindfulness with cognitive behavioral techniques, providing a supportive space for growth and healing. M-CBT helps women develop self-awareness, allowing them to identify and challenge negative thought patterns. This awareness is a crucial step in their healing journey. The stress reduction techniques inherent in M-CBT lead many clients to feel a greater sense of calm and balance in their lives. I also see significant improvements in emotional regulation. Women learn valuable skills to manage their emotions, which fosters resilience and control during challenging times. Furthermore, M-CBT creates a sense of community, as women share their experiences and support one another in their journeys. Throughout our work together, I observe transformative insights that empower women to understand themselves better and approach life’s challenges with newfound strength. My goal is to help them take charge of their mental health and well-being. I feel privileged to guide women toward cultivating resilience, self-compassion, and a brighter future.

Faith based therapy

As a therapist, I’ve seen the profound impact that faith-based therapy can have on women’s wellness. This approach integrates spiritual beliefs with psychological principles, creating a nurturing environment for healing and growth. Faith-based therapy helps women deepen their self-awareness by connecting their thoughts and feelings to their spiritual beliefs. This connection often serves as a powerful tool for identifying and overcoming negative patterns in their lives. Additionally, the stress reduction techniques rooted in faith provide a sense of peace and comfort. Many clients report feeling more grounded and resilient when they lean into their spiritual practices during challenging times. I also observe positive changes in emotional regulation as women learn to draw strength from their faith. This spiritual grounding helps them navigate their emotions with greater clarity and confidence. The sense of community fostered in faith-based therapy is invaluable, as women share their journeys and support one another through shared beliefs and experiences. Throughout our sessions, I witness transformative insights that empower women to align their mental health with their spiritual values. My goal is to help them embrace their faith as a source of strength and guidance in their lives. I feel truly honored to support women on this journey toward resilience, self-compassion, and a more fulfilling life grounded in their beliefs.

Gottman method

As a therapist, I have experienced the profound impact of the Gottman Method in supporting women’s wellness, particularly within the context of relationships. This approach is grounded in research and focuses on fostering healthy communication and emotional connection, creating a safe space for women to grow and thrive. The Gottman Method emphasizes self-awareness in relationships, helping women understand their own emotions and needs. This insight allows them to identify and address any negative patterns that may arise in their interactions with others, leading to healthier dynamics. A key component of this method is its focus on effective communication. Women learn valuable skills to express themselves openly and honestly, which not only enhances their relationships but also contributes to their overall emotional well-being. Many clients report feeling more empowered and understood as they practice these techniques. Furthermore, the Gottman Method encourages emotional regulation, equipping women with tools to manage their feelings during conflicts. This fosters resilience and helps them navigate challenges with greater ease and confidence. The sense of community created through therapy sessions also provides vital support, as women share their experiences and insights with one another. Throughout our work together, I witness transformative insights that empower women to cultivate healthier relationships and a deeper understanding of themselves. My goal is to guide them in applying the principles of the Gottman Method to enhance their emotional wellness and relational satisfaction. I am honored to support women on this journey toward building strong, loving connections that nurture their overall well-being.
