About me

Hi, I’m Shena Moreau, Founder of Valorous Wellness and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to helping women heal and grow through a holistic approach to mental health. I specialize in breathwork, meditation, and sound healing, blending traditional therapy with mindful, heart-centered practices that nurture the mind, body, and soul. My mission is to help and create a safe and supportive space for women where healing feels whole, and clients can reconnect with themselves and find balance from within.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients stop fighting what they feel and start building a life that actually matters to them, even with the discomfort still present. It's not about getting rid of anxiety or pain; it's about loosening its grip so it stops running your decisions. Paired with body-based and chakra work, ACT becomes more than a mindset shift, it becomes something your whole nervous system can practice, not just your brain.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I believe that healing begins in the present moment. My approach to therapy is grounded in mindfulness a practice of gently bringing awareness to your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment. Mindfulness-based therapy is woven into each session to help clients slow down, regulate their nervous system, and develop a deeper connection to themselves. Whether you're working through trauma, anxiety, or life stressors, I guide you to become more aware of internal patterns and develop healthier ways of responding to them. Through practices such as breath awareness, guided grounding exercises, body scans, and mindful reflection, clients learn to stay connected and calm even during emotional discomfort. These tools help reduce overwhelm, build emotional resilience, and promote clarity, self-compassion, and long-term healing. My integrative approach blends traditional talk therapy with mindfulness techniques to support whole-person healing, emotionally, mentally, and somatically.

Integrative

My approach doesn't fit in one box, and I don't think healing should either. I blend clinical psychotherapy with chakra-based body work, sound healing, and nervous system regulation, treating the whole person, not just the symptom in front of me. Every modality I use is in service of one thing: real change that actually lasts, not just talk.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Helping my clients with PTSD. Assisting my clients with thinking less negative or differently now that they are out of their situation. Positive thinking, reshaping the mind and learn how to mange thoughts/feelings in a healthy way. I use CBT to help clients identify the thought patterns and beliefs that keep them stuck , the inner narrative running underneath the anxiety, self-doubt, or burnout. But I don't stop at the thought level. I pair it with body-based work, because a new thought rarely holds if the nervous system hasn't caught up.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe you're the expert on your own life, not me. My role is to create a space where you feel truly seen and accepted without judgment, so the parts of you that have been hidden, performing, or in survival mode can finally be honest. Healing happens through that genuine connection first, the techniques come second.

She listened and provided the exact feedback I needed and had me thinking about the situation in a completely different way and made a hugh difference with my issues in a positive way the very first session. She is exactly who I have been looking for in a counselor and I look forward to my next session.

Had my first session with Shena and she has beautiful energy. I usually am one to be a little guarded but I instantly felt comfortable to open up. Thank you Shena for making this a great first experience and I can't wait for the next session.
