About me

Welcome! I am a licensed counselor, a board certified registered art therapist and a registered play therapist. I am a college professor of counseling and art therapy and have been practicing for almost 20 years. I love working with people to trust who they are and becoming their most authentic selves. I am a creative, open and welcoming therapist, artist, parent, and survivor. I bring my whole-self to therapy so that I can support you and you can also bring your whole self to the process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we start with reviewing the paperwork and confidentiality; address your initial concerns and work on setting goals together. You are in charge of your therapy and I am there to support you in the process, so I want to hear about your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am compassionate, creative and open. I believe in my clients' abilities to care for themselves, know their own needs, and express the wonderful people they are. I have many years of experience as a create therapist and counselor and see time and time again how amazing my clients can be when they have the support they need.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with people from adolescence through the late years that are interested in learning about themselves, open to self reflection and who need someone to lean on. I love seeing my clients become themselves, trust themselves, and heal from the many traumas/hurts they have experienced in their lives. My goal is to help you be you and to grow in a healthy manner.

Serves ages

Teenagers (13 to 17)

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I prefer to use CPT with persons who have a history of PTSD as a way to work with the cognitive fallacies that often surround such a diagnosis.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I find DBT is a great intervention to use while trying to understand and manage large emotions.

Gender-affirming therapy

I am affirming with all clients on gender, sexuality, expression, identity, and affection.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I always start any therapy from a person-centered approach because each of us are unique and we each have our own needs. I believe in unconditional positive regard and then move to other theories as needed by the client.

Compassion Focused

I like to use compassion, self-compassion and acceptance approaches to therapy to explore self and past/present behaviors.
