I am Ezenwanyi, a psychiatric mental health provider who believes that good mental health care starts with truly listening. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing and feel heard as a whole person, not just as a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. My approach is collaborative and individualized. I take time to understand your concerns, life experiences, relationships, stressors, strengths, and goals before developing a treatment plan with you. When medication is appropriate, I believe in thoughtful prescribing, clear education, and shared decision-making so you understand your options and feel comfortable participating in decisions about your care.

My goal is to help you feel supported while we work toward meaningful, sustainable improvement in your emotional well-being and daily life.

I work with adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, attention and concentration difficulties, life transitions, and other mental health challenges. My goal is to help you feel supported while we work toward meaningful, sustainable improvement in your emotional well-being and daily life.

First session

Your first appointment is an opportunity for me to get to know you, not just your symptoms. We will discuss what brought you to care, your current concerns, relevant history, previous treatment experiences, medications, and what you hope will improve. My goal is for you to leave the first visit feeling heard, respected, and clearer about the next steps. I will explain my clinical impressions and discuss treatment options with you, including medication when appropriate. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and express your preferences. We will then work together to develop a treatment plan that feels realistic, understandable, and individualized to you.

Strengths

I bring a balance of compassion, clinical knowledge, and honesty to my sessions. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly, without worrying about being judged. I listen carefully not only to your symptoms, but also to what is happening in your life and what matters to you. My style is supportive and collaborative, but I am also willing to ask thoughtful questions and gently challenge patterns that may be getting in the way of your progress. I believe patients deserve to understand their care, so I take time to explain diagnoses, medications, treatment options, benefits, and potential concerns in a way that makes sense. Most importantly, I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. I meet you where you are, respect your preferences, and work with you to develop a realistic treatment plan that supports your goals.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is an adult who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty with focus or concentration, stress, or major life transitions and is ready to better understand what they are experiencing. You may be seeking psychiatric care for the first time, returning to treatment, or looking for a provider who will take the time to listen and involve you in decisions about your care. You do not need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. I value clients who are willing to communicate openly, ask questions, and work collaboratively toward realistic goals. Together, we can explore your symptoms, identify what may be contributing to them, and develop an individualized treatment plan that fits your needs and preferences.

Treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to create a supportive space where you can explore what matters most to you and what changes you feel ready to make. Rather than telling you what you “should” do, I listen to your concerns, help you work through uncertainty, and support you in identifying your own goals and reasons for change. This approach is especially helpful when we are making decisions together about medications, lifestyle changes, treatment goals, or other aspects of your mental health. My role is to provide guidance and clinical expertise while respecting your values, preferences, and choices. I want you to feel that treatment is something we are doing together, not something being done to you.
