Daffaney Burnside

6 years experience

As a child, I always wanted to pursue a career where I could assist with an individual’s growth, creativity and happiness. I learned at a young age the struggles that life can bring, not only through the inevitable, but also through situational traumas that we at times have to face and endure. Being an active member in the clinical field of helping professionals, I have certainly learned the importance of patience, empathy and peace. Identifying and securing ones’ purpose in life, creates the true masterpiece of one’s story. My goal is to assist you in your journey to self-actualization.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

A Bit About Therapy I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of stress, sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize CBT, DBT and client centered methods/approaches within my therapy sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, childhood -present traumas and recent life adjustments : loss-grief, relationships, marriage, divorce, parenting and stressors within employment, school environments, etc.
