Hello! My name is Jenny, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois. I received my Masters degree in Social Work from Aurora University. I have 8 years of experience working in a variety of different settings including work with military veterans, school age children and adolescents, to older adults experiencing life transitions and aging. In addition to my education and work experience, I also bring my own personal experiences of healing from trauma, familial dysfunction, living with a disability, and overcoming the negative emotional impact of living with chronic pain. I am living proof that there is positivity and hope on the other side for those that want it. Let me help you get to where you want to be!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions while also allowing you to provide valuable input into what you are hoping to accomplish in therapy.
As a clinician, I strive to provide a warm, supportive environment for my clients to express their thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental space. My goal is to help ease any feelings of trepidation my client may have about attending therapy while helping them feel seen, heard, understood, and above all --empowered!
I work with clients that are seeking therapy for a variety of reasons including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, stress management, PTSD, and life transitions.
Through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, I work with my clients to identify and challenge negative thoughts and perceptions, break problems down into smaller, more manageable parts, and empower my clients to respond to problems they face in more effective ways through the application of practical strategies and coping skills.
