Welcome, I am so happy that you are HERE! My name is Jasmine, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have a bachelor's degree in sociology and criminology, and I have my master's degree in professional counseling. I have been practicing for over 7 years and really enjoy helping people find and redefine themselves. Before I jump in, I want you to know that I have my availability limited on my calendar because I like to work around my clients schedules after we have our first session. If the available time shown does not work for you, you can still book it to get on my calendar, and send me a message about an alternative time, and I will do my best to accommodate. My life mission/purpose is to help women & men get unstuck, inform them that I SEE them, and help them discover their WHY in life through your story, by building connections, and providing counseling. My Tag Line: I’m that counselor who you can trust like a best friend. I will be your ally in your growth journey. Please note I do not have all my availability visible. Once I see you are a new client then we can determine the schedule that works for both of us.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
As a therapist, my greatest strength lies in creating a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly understood. I’m passionate about helping people navigate challenges, whether it's through CBT for changing thought patterns, Motivational Interviewing to spark personal growth, or Narrative Therapy to reshape personal stories. My trauma-informed approach ensures clients feel safe and empowered to share at their own pace. I love being present with my clients, offering genuine support while guiding them toward healing and growth in a way that honors their unique journey.
In my therapy practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. By working collaboratively, we explore the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, and develop practical strategies to replace unhelpful thinking with more balanced and constructive perspectives. I guide clients in learning coping techniques to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges, empowering them to take control of their mental health and improve their overall well-being.
In my therapy practice, I incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about making positive changes in their lives. By fostering a non-judgmental and empathetic environment, I encourage clients to express their motivations, values, and goals. Through reflective listening and open-ended questions, I help clients strengthen their intrinsic motivation to change and build confidence in their ability to take actionable steps toward their desired outcomes. MI allows me to meet clients where they are and support their journey toward meaningful, self-directed change.
In my therapy work, I use Narrative Therapy to help clients reframe their personal stories and view themselves as the authors of their own lives. By externalizing problems and separating them from their identity, clients can gain new perspectives on the challenges they face. We work together to explore the dominant narratives that may be limiting their growth, and I support clients in rewriting these narratives to reflect their strengths, values, and resilience. This approach empowers clients to reshape their story, fostering a sense of agency and opening up possibilities for positive change.
In my therapy work, I embrace a Person-Centered approach, focusing on creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel fully accepted and heard. I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and self-healing, and I aim to support clients in exploring their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. By fostering a genuine therapeutic relationship built on trust and unconditional positive regard, I empower clients to tap into their inner strengths, promoting personal growth and facilitating positive change from within.
In my therapy work, I incorporate a Trauma-Informed approach, ensuring that the care I provide recognizes and respects the impact of trauma on my clients' lives. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to share their experiences at their own pace. I focus on building trust, fostering collaboration, and emphasizing choice in the therapeutic process. By understanding how trauma can affect thoughts, emotions, and behavior, I tailor interventions to avoid re-traumatization, helping clients regain a sense of control and safety as they heal and move forward.
