Hi! I’m Allyson (she/her) and I am a queer identified therapist. I have over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist in many types of settings including schools, agencies, and the community. I have extensive experience working with trauma as well as young people. My work is relational, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I see therapy as it’s own type of creative process and it looks different for every person. I am here to support you peel back the layers and come home to yourself. As a queer therapist I am most drawn to working with individuals who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community and those who are exploring their sexual and/or gender identities. The more we are able to love and accept who we are the more we are able to feel internal peace. I would love to walk with you on your path to living your truth.
I hope that our time together will help you to feel seen and heard, beginning wherever you may be. Therapy is a unique relationship and one where we can practice being human together and begin to heal those relational wounds you may have experienced throughout your life. You are likely to laugh in session and think deeply. Therapy is hard work and does not end when the session ends. You can expect to continue your own process even after session. If you are interested in working with me, please message or email (allyson.hurlburt@gmail.com) me and tell me a little about your needs. I have limited availability, primarily Friday during the day, and prioritize individuals and couples within the LGBTQ community.
Client-centered, strengths based, relational, eclectic, and trauma-informed.
Identity exploration can happen at any time and I support individuals of all ages, and especially those in early adulthood or transitioning from their teen years into adulthood. Anxiety and even grief can be a part of this process as well as joy and exuberance. I am here for all of it and will also help you to understand and process any trauma that may have disrupted any part of your journey.
