(he/him)
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over seven years of professional experience, you can think of me as someone who’s trained to navigate life's twists and turns with you, minus the overly clinical jargon. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy from John Brown University, specializing in areas like anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, and relationship concerns. My practice is entirely virtual, meaning you can relax in your favorite comfy spot during our sessions (coffee and fuzzy slippers optional, but encouraged!).
In our sessions, you'll find a welcoming and non-judgmental space where meaningful conversation and genuine connection are valued. Our first session will be focused on who you are, where you've been, and where you would like to go. You’ll leave each session with practical tools, clearer perspectives, and increased confidence to manage life's ups and downs. My goal is always to empower you toward lasting growth, greater emotional well-being, and perhaps even some unexpected moments of laughter and hope along the way.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and gently humorous—I strongly believe therapy should be as comfortable and approachable as possible. You're the expert on your own life; I'm here to support you in clarifying your goals, navigating challenges, and celebrating successes along the way. We'll work together to explore emotions, develop insights, and build effective strategies, all tailored specifically to your unique journey.
I'm here to work with you, walking beside you on your journey, whatever that may look like. My primary goal is to help you achieve what you want to achieve, and to help you enjoy the process of getting there.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a client-centered approach is my general way of thinking about issues that you may be facing. I use this approach with clients on a daily basis.
I am a counselor that is a Christian, and if you would like to integrate the Christian faith into your therapy, I would be more than happy to do that. If that's something you don't want integrated or do not believe, I do not push religion or beliefs on you, and I will always respect your beliefs.
I integrate Motivational Interviewing into my therapy practice as a means to help clients get unstuck.
I use Solution Focussed Brief Therapy additionally throughout my practice as a way to help clients get unstuck.
My care is generally trauma-informed. I also am able to specifically provice Trauma-Focused care utilizing either Trauma Focused CBT or Accelerated Resolution Therapy to reduce symptoms of PTSD.
