Welcome my name is Kareem Hicks, and I commend anyone who desires to grow. Often, our environments & comfort zones may stagnate or stunt our growth. Whether it is a traumatic experience or merely trying to maneuver through daily life challenges, I will help you develop your resiliency. I will aid you in processes that will get you through the present and prepare you for the future. We will discover & develop protective factors by understanding the whole of you: body, soul, & mind. By taking a holistic approach to growth, I will assist you in the discovery of lifestyle changes & new ways of thinking that will maximize your potential.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first encounter, you can expect caring support, warmth, and empathy to allow you to be in a safe space to share and build trust with me as your clinician. We then will dive into the vulnerabilities of what is activating the shame, guilt, resentment, or mistrust you have with people or entities in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Expressing empathy and positive regard that triggers are a temporary setback. The strengths I would like my clients to witness from me is perseverance and understanding that life comes with roadblocks. However, it is up to us if we will like those roadblocks to deter our happiness.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with individuals from 13 and beyond, eager to enhance and understand the barriers in their lives. I am here to make the goals a reality by managing emotions and allowing the client to collaborate with the clinician on this journey of self-healing.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I am a clinician who recognizes and acknowledges our change for one another as humans. We have to be the change agents we want from others. However, that starts with the individual who advocates for said change.
