Welcome my name is Kareem Hicks, and I commend anyone who desires to grow. Often, our environments & comfort zones may stagnate or stunt our growth. In our first encounter, you can expect caring support, warmth, and empathy to allow you to be in a safe space to share and build trust with me as your clinician. We then will dive into the vulnerabilities of what is activating the shame, guilt, resentment, or mistrust you have with people or entities in your life.
Expressing empathy and positive regard that triggers are a temporary setback. The strengths I would like my clients to witness from me is perseverance and understanding that life comes with roadblocks. However, it is up to us if we will like those roadblocks to deter our happiness.
I am best positioned to serve individuals who are motivated for self-growth and are seeking to improve emotional awareness, interpersonal effectiveness, and behavioral patterns that impact their daily functioning. This includes clients experiencing anxiety, relationship challenges, low self-worth, people-pleasing tendencies, and difficulty with boundaries. I work well with clients who are open to reflection, willing to engage in structured interventions such as CBT or DBT, and committed to applying skills outside of session.
