I bring decades of life experience to my practice, including several decades as a devoted husband and father. I bring with me a life-long passion for delving into processing human behavior. I have effectively supported clients ranging in age from 5 to 84 years old. I work primarily with adults who experience depression and anxiety and those adjusting to major life transitions or relationship difficulties. I am compassionate but believe in challenging you. I use a strengths-based, person-centered, positive psychology approach, with CBT and motivational interviewing.
Clients engaging with me can anticipate a dynamic and empathetic exploration of their areas of interest. You can expect a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can openly delve into thoughts, feelings, or behaviors you might hesitate to share elsewhere. I will ensure that each session is a space for authentic self-exploration, leaving you with concrete progress and practical tools to apply independently moving forward.
My greatest strength is my ability to make connections between thoughts, memories, or behaviors, which may not be immediately obvious to most. These connections are extremely important to one’s growth because when we ask why we are feeling a certain way, we must be able to push beyond the obvious. I believe we must engage in the type of dynamic thinking that reaches beyond common daily thinking. I am a very active participant during the session, and I am always searching for key insights I can use to help my client improve their mental health.
My ideal client is someone who has recognized a need to address their emotional well-being and has actively sought answers through self-help books and online resources, such as YouTube videos. I am passionate about my work and thrive on collaborating with clients who are eager to enhance their mental and emotional wellness. My ideal client is prepared to explore their visual memories and delve into their deepest emotions, expanding their self-awareness beyond childhood experiences by examining relationships with their primary and secondary caregivers. I am particularly passionate about assisting men who aspire to enhance their roles as partners and fathers. Whether they are uncertain of the first steps or actively seeking resources to strengthen their emotional bonds, I am dedicated to supporting their journey.
