Hello, my name is Michele Ryan. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who loves working with individuals, families and couples who have been affected by mental illness or just the everyday stressors and strains of life. Sometimes it can be very difficult to get relief from emotional problems on our own. Too often, when we feel discouraged, angry, stressed out and overwhelmed and we can turn to unhealthy coping skills. I have worked with clients struggling with chemical and behavioral addictions, depression, multiple anxiety disorders, PTSD and ongoing difficulties due to past traumatic experiences and life stressors. I have experience working in treatment facilities specializing in addiction and co-occurring disorders. I am trained in EMDR therapy which is a cutting-edge treatment for trauma. I am certified in TF-CBT. My approach is empathetic, collaborative, and goal-oriented. Let me help you to make meaning in your life and recover from what can feel like a dark and daunting existence. I am a native of Los Angeles and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I earned my BA in Psychology at UNLV and my master’s degree at Phillips Graduate University. When I am not at Lyra working I love the beach, horseback riding, traveling, and hiking with my dogs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My own life experience informs and gives insight into these struggles, and my open, authentic, and non-judgmental personality helps clients to feel safe and at ease. Building trust and openness is key to my work, and I value every one of my client's unique stories and journeys.
