About me

Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas. I received my masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and have been practicing for 6 years. I have experience working with individuals from ages 3-100, but am currently only working with adults and young adults. I have a vast experience in crisis work, dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I also have experience working with difficult family dynamics.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will do brief introductions. This will allow us to determine if I am the right therapist for you, based on your current needs and my own experience/specialties. If we are the right match, then we will begin working on a treatment plan that is crafted to your specific situation. We will also discuss an expected timeline of sessions. Typically I see clients on average for 6 months, so we will review how that works and what to expect during that time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my years in crisis care, I have learned to provide a calm and safe space for my clients. I am proficient at helping my clients identify triggers and stressors. I am also effective at teaching effective coping skills that are specific to my clients, and creating appropriate goal-oriented treatment plans.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with adults who are ready to work on their mental health, but don't quite have the skills to do so yet. My clients are eager to learn and practice these new skills to better cope with their past/current experiences that have influenced their mental health.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is goal-directed therapy that is used to treat anxiety, depression, and stress. I have utilized CBT for the past 6 years to help clients with recognizing thought patterns that foster feelings of anxiety and depression. We will practice CBT to develop an understanding of how interconnected your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are. We will then use that understanding to reframe these thought patterns and develop effective coping techniques.
