Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You can expect a light hearted and open minded space where you're free to talk openly, or go at your own pace. I bring a warm and grounded energy into the room—and yes, quite a bit of humor too. Therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. In our first meeting we’ll talk about what life looks like for you right now—what’s hard, what’s getting in the way, and what you'd like to get out of therapy. I’ll ask about your goals, your past experiences with therapy (if any), and what you hope this space will be for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes my therapeutic style effective is my flexibility. Some clients thrive with structure and homework, while others prefer insight to emerge more organically through conversation, creativity, or reflection. Whether it's offering reading materials, journaling prompts, or even processing through movies, photos, or art, I adapt my methods to fit what resonates most with you. I focus on creating a space that feels safe, real, and responsive to you as a person—not just your symptoms.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have experience in the treatment of traumatic experiences, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, gambling, mood disorders, OCD, grief, codependency, PTSD, CPTSD, sexual dysfunctional, and behavioral issues. I have specific training in EMDR, Matrix, MRT, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Gottman Method, Cluster B Personality Disorders, IFS- while also utilizing other techniques to enhance the therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is particularly effective in my practice due to its evidence-based framework and adaptability. I often blend it with complementary modalities such as DBT, mindfulness-based strategies, and trauma-informed care to meet the unique needs of each client. My approach is active, engaging, and aimed at empowering clients to take ownership of their progress outside of sessions through the use of homework, journaling, and daily practice of coping strategies.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize the four core DBT modules—Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness—to guide structured, skills-based work with clients. These modules are integrated into treatment through psychoeducation, in-session practice, role-play, and between-session homework. I help clients build awareness of their internal experiences, identify ineffective patterns of behavior, and apply DBT-informed tools in real-time to navigate distress and build a life worth living.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a central component of my therapeutic approach, especially when working with clients who feel ambivalent about change or struggle with maintaining motivation in the face of complex life challenges. I have extensive experience using MI with individuals facing concerns such as addiction, trauma recovery, relationship issues, behavioral health concerns, and chronic avoidance patterns.

Polyvagal Therapy

In practice, I educate clients about the autonomic nervous system—specifically the roles of the ventral vagal (safety and connection), sympathetic (mobilization), and dorsal vagal (shutdown) responses. This framework helps clients build awareness of their state shifts, normalize their physiological responses to trauma or stress, and develop individualized strategies for co-regulation and self-regulation. Therapeutically, I integrate polyvagal concepts with mindfulness, grounding, breathwork, somatic tracking, and safe/calm place imagery. These interventions are designed to support nervous system regulation, increase window of tolerance, and strengthen the client’s ability to return to a state of safety and engagement after dysregulation.

Trauma-Focused CBT

In my work, I emphasize building trust and emotional safety before entering trauma processing. I help clients identify unhelpful trauma-related beliefs and replace them with more adaptive, supportive narratives. I also support clients in developing concrete coping skills—such as grounding, emotion regulation, and relaxation techniques—to manage symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression linked to trauma history.
