(she/her)
I know, the thought about starting therapy can be difficult, but also can be a tool for growth. I have 7 years of experience in the mental health field helping clients. I am bilingual (Spanish/English) and my current practice focus is with young and older adults looking for support. Throughout my career, I've supported both adults and children across diverse environments, including private practice and nonprofit organizations. I like helping individuals manage emotional challenges of any trauma, bipolar, schizophrenia, depression; anxiety; relationship issues; adult ADHD; work issues, self-esteem issues, chronic illness, and adjustment to change. I have worked with Individuals and families for more than 15 years (7 years specifically in mental health) .I am an empathetic clinician who believes in change through a therapeutic alliance between therapist and client.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I have been working with Individuals and families for the last 15 years and the last 7 specifically in a mental health setting. Having worked with young and older adults for so many years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with young and older adults who are experiencing depression, abandonment issues, anxiety, low self esteem, trouble interacting with others or having trouble with their current life situation in general. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their current life situation.
Alex Rakowitz offers therapy covered by Parkland Community Health Plan - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
I love helping clients to discover and reaffirm the best in themselves in order to see their own value and act upon. This will help them capitalize on their strengths rather than focusing on their negative characteristic.
CBT approach helps changing thought patterns that leads to anxiety or depression.
I help clients boost their skills related to accepting past or harmful events by making changes through analyzing their behavior and accepting their feelings to move forward in life.
I truly believe that accepting our past will ease the journey in the future, smooths the road to well-being, and optimistic and hopeful view of future.
