Hi, my name is Kimberly Ignacio and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been working professionally in the mental health and social services field for over a decade. The professional and personal experiences I have encountered help me empathize with my clients in hopes of building understanding and alternative perspectives to be observed. I have worked in various areas of social services and walked beside individuals struggling with stressors that cause impairments in their lives, in some way. I enjoy providing support to my clients in hopes of improving their insight, self-validation, and self-reliance.
I feel that my sessions are light-hearted and incorporate assertive feedback when necessary. With the focus of meeting my clients where they are emotionally is essential to gauge how healing or finding resolution begins. Lastly, my intention is that my clients leave our sessions in a positive mood and feel mentally lighter.
The theoretical approaches utilized in my sessions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, and Strengths-Based. My hope in sessions is to help my clients understand "blindspots", begin to trust themselves, and develop self-control.
The strengths I bring to sessions are maintaining a flexible understanding, non-judgment, and a space where my clients feel heard, seen, and accepted. My goal is to create a safe place for my clients to express their thoughts and feelings comfortably.
I would like to work with adults who have interest to better understand themselves.
