Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. My name is Nicole, and I have been serving clients in the mental health field for 25 years. Much of my work has been focused on children, adolescents and parents, however I also have 6 years of experience in crisis counseling with adults with a variety of life issues, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and other serious mental illness. My goal is always to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients, and respect them as the experts in their own lives. With this has my main objective, I have been able to assist countless individuals in improving their overall wellness as individuals and in their relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session you can expect an overall introduction and from there for me to listen. It is my goal to start services by gaining an understanding of my client's story and what is most important to them. We can work together to identify what has brought them into treatment and what they would like most to get out of their time with me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with children and families over the last 25 years as well as crisis counseling, my greatest strength is the ability to listen and build an alliance with my clients to collaboratively identify their goals and increase their overall wellbeing.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT to work for over 10 years with clients to identify their goals and thoughts and behaviors that are not serving them well in their lives. We explore beliefs and thought processes that could be holding them back from reaching their goals of change. I use CBT to increase self-awareness and understanding the motivation of other. This allows the client to make changes that help them move forward and gain communication and coping skills to deal with life's difficult situations.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize motivation interviewing in the practice as a means of working collaboratively with a client to gain a full understanding of their thoughts and things that are important to them. I do this through active listening and reflection to ensure they are heard and that I have an accurate picture of the issues with which they may be struggling. Clients have my unconditional positive regard and are in the driver's seat of their own treatment.
