Hi! Hola! Welcome to my page! I'm a bilingual, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from Notre Dame de Namur University in Clinical Psychology and have been practicing for 8 years. I enjoy working with families, youth, and adults navigating through life challenges that include grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, generational relational trauma, and life stress.
The first session is all about getting to know you. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your day-to-day life, the important people in your world, what brings you joy, what causes stress, and what goals you may have. This initial conversation helps us begin to build a foundation and gives me a baseline understanding of how I can best support you. It’s also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work and to see if this feels like the right fit for you. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and more at ease about the therapy process.
I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, supportive, and grounded in curiosity. My communication style is kind, compassionate, and reflective. I believe in empowering my clients by meeting them where they are and honoring their lived experiences. I approach each session with openness and care, inviting exploration, self-discovery, and meaningful processing. Together, we work to make sense of challenges in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and growth-oriented.
I enjoy working with individuals who are open-minded, reflective, and curious about their own inner world. My ideal client is someone who wants to understand themselves more deeply. They are curious about exploring patterns, emotions, and the meaning behind their experiences. Lastly, ready to engage in the process of self-discovery and growth.

My approach is rooted in humanistic and compassion-focused principles, creating a space that is empathetic, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I often integrate psychodynamic exploration, narrative therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients make sense of their stories and build tools for healing and resilience. Together, we work toward greater awareness, self-understanding, and the ability to live with more authenticity and self-compassion.

Maria is very welcoming and makes me feel very important. She doesn't push needing to know more information and lets me have my space to talk.

Maria is amazing! She gently holds space for the emotional and painful moments, and also offers ways to reframe negative thoughts and statements in a way that is helpful. She also shares prompts and resources as an option to dive deeper into what comes up in session. I’m learning so much about myself and healing. Maria has made my first experience with therapy a positive one. So grateful for this resource!
