Hello! My name is Monica and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my masters from La Salle University and have been practicing for over 5 years. I have experience working with families as well as individuals. My focus has been supporting families and individuals to process trauma, reduce family conflict, and learn to manage anxiety and depression symptoms.
During our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and discuss what brought you to therapy. I’ll listen closely to understand your concerns, goals, and any challenges you’re currently facing. We’ll also talk about how therapy works, the approaches I use, and how we can work together to achieve your goals.
My approach consists of the use of evidence based models such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) to help individuals and families reduce PTSD symptoms and conflict within the family. I work to adapt to the needs of my clients and provide them with a safe space in which they feel able to be open and vulnerable.
Children, teens and adults who have experienced trauma and are experiencing PTSD symptoms, families who are experiencing conflict, teens and adult experiencing anxiety and/or depression.
As a family therapist I have experience working with families to help them identify negative patterns of interactions and help them to learn new positive patterns of interaction, allowing them to increase secure attachment, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and co-caregiver alliance.
As a certified PE therapist, I work with adults to help them reduce PTSD symptoms through the use of exposure. Treatment includes both in-vivo and imaginal exposure, allowing clients to process there trauma while also reducing avoidance.
I have been utilizing TFCBT to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers overcome trauma-related difficulties.
