Let's face it, life can get difficult sometimes. Whether it's relationship issues, separation, or loss of a loved one, sometimes we just feel stuck. We may know that there's something going on and that things need to change, but we may need that extra support to point us in the right direction. That is when professional help like that of therapists may come in handy. As a therapist with experience for over 10 years, I work primarily with adult clients who are navigating difficult life transitions such relationship issues, grief and loss, separation, and health conditions. I engage my clients in meaningful conversations to support them as they consider how their own actions and thoughts can empower them through these difficult situations. I am engaging, supportive, but more importantly compassionate through my clients' healing journeys.
Think of your first session as an interview and introduction where you will share what are your main reasons that you seek therapy at this time, a brief background about yourself, and how you expect to feel differently after therapy. This will also allow us to determine whether we are a good fit and to discuss the next steps to take in treatment.
If you are looking for someone who will be able to provide you compassionate support and yet hold you accountable for the changes that you can make in your life, then I can work with you in this process. I believe in the balance of being able to foster a supportive environment while also allowing for self-reflection and growth. I provide clients with sincere feedback, address unhelpful thinking and behavior that keep client's from making progress in their situations, and assist client's with considering coping strategies that will promote their daily functioning and management of emotions.
I have experience with adult clients-- particularly Latina women-- who are interested in their healing journey. I regularly work clients who experience relationship issues, low self-esteem, insecurities, restlessness, depressed mood, and who may feel paralyzed about what steps to take next. My clients may not necessarily know what is going on inside of them, but that's okay. In therapy, we work at my clients' specific pace and capacity. We will work together to acknowledge what is going on and will take it from there. As long as there is an interest then we can work be a partnership in this journey.
I engage my clients in meaningful conversations that allow them to consider how they can take active steps to make positive change in their lives-- no matter how difficult things may get at times. We work closely together to develop a treatment plan that is catered to their specific therapy goals and needs. Through a series of engaging therapy sessions, I will support my client as they develop healthy coping strategies, healthy communication skills, problem solving, mindfulness, and regulation of emotions, amongst other skills.
Through this engaging therapy style, I encourage my clients to discuss their current issues related to relationships problems, mood swings, and stress management. I will work closely with clients to help them develop skills to effectively navigate difficult life situations, improve communication and relationship with others, regulate emotions and mood-swings, and life a life worth living.
I integrate my previous therapy experiences to cater to each client’s specific needs. It will be a combination of both therapeutic conversations, problem solving, skills development and other helpful strategies that will be better suited for the client's situation.
This therapy style allows more of an opportunity for my clients to talk through situations and struggles. Both the client and I will be able to process the identified issues in a manner that allows for reflection and healing.
Like the name says, ACT Therapy helps clients to manage through and accept situations that may be otherwise difficult to change. This therapy is particularly helpful for individuals who are learning to live with and manage through health conditions or mobility issues. While doing this therapy I help clients to consider thoughts that are more reflective of their current situations and also work with them to learn skills to improve their motivation and daily activities/
