Hello! I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Texas. After moving to the United States from Barbados in 2003 to further my education, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Following my undergraduate experience, I furthered my education by completing my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, and my Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology degrees from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Psychologist, I partner with clients to help them meet their therapeutic and life goals, and help them move towards lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and discuss your presenting concerns. We will also review your social and emotional history, and ultimately discuss goals that will help me tailor an effective plan for our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach to psychotherapy is one of collaboration and supportive challenge, and I strive to create a warm and safe environment for clients to navigate the sometimes difficult work of therapy. I am committed to building a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, and strive to provide a safe space for working through individual and relational issues.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with young adults and adults on issues related to interpersonal conflict; navigating dating and romantic relationships; depression; anxiety; trauma; identifying and building coping skills; life transitions; and a variety of other presenting concerns.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

While I utilize more of an eclectic approach to therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the foundational treatment that underpins my work with clients. I support clients to challenge and reframe negative and unhelpful thoughts/beliefs that maintain depression, anxiety, low self-esteem etc., with the goal of achieving balanced and more effective thinking patterns.
