(she/her)
Hello, and welcome! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals thrive. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Slippery Rock University. I’m dedicated to building a meaningful, supportive relationship with each of my clients. I believe that true success in therapy comes from working together in a safe, trusting space. My goal is to empower you to pursue your personal goals, and I find so much joy in celebrating your successes along the way. I understand that living a balanced life is key to happiness and mental well-being. That’s why I encourage practices like developing effective coping skills, staying active, nourishing your body, building positive social connections, and finding purpose. Together, we can work towards creating the life you envision. I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s take this journey toward wellness together!
During our first session, we’ll take the time to get to know each other and start building a strong, trusting foundation. I want to learn about your experiences, challenges, and what brings you to therapy, so we’ll discuss your symptoms, background, and the history of the issues you’re facing. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals for your journey, focusing on what you want to achieve and how I can best support you along the way. My priority is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing and exploring your thoughts and feelings. This first step is all about understanding who you are as a whole person, so we can work together to create positive, lasting change. I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is the diversity of my experience. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults, in various settings ranging from residential care to outpatient support. These experiences have shaped my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. What truly sets me apart is my deep empathy. I strive to put myself in my clients’ shoes, seeing the world through their eyes, while also maintaining a solution-focused perspective. This balance allows us to navigate challenges together, fostering a sense of partnership on the journey to healing. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood. I’m here to help you move forward with compassion, clarity, and a focus on lasting change.
I’m here to support you through life’s challenges, whether you’re navigating them on your own or with your family. I offer individual therapy for adults, creating a safe, understanding space to work through a wide range of concerns. Whether you’re dealing with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, or navigating big life changes, I’m here to help. I also work with those experiencing grief, relationship struggles, mood disorders, or issues like anger management, low self-esteem, or codependency. If you’re coping with behavior challenges, self-harm, thoughts of suicide, or family difficulties, we can work together to find a path forward. I also offer support for sexuality and gender questions, managing bipolar and other personality disorders, OCD, social challenges, and sexual abuse prevention. No matter what you’re going through, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to help you build the skills and resilience you need to move forward with confidence and hope.
This treatment approach is at the heart of my practice because it addresses the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe that by understanding how these elements influence each other, we can create meaningful, lasting change. I often incorporate variations of this method, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to tailor the process to each client’s unique needs. ACT helps clients develop mindfulness skills, accept their thoughts and emotions without judgment, and commit to actions that align with their values. By combining these approaches, I help clients build greater self-awareness and develop practical coping strategies. My goal is to empower you to navigate challenges with resilience and move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.
I’m passionate about helping clients reconnect with the present moment, as I believe that grounding ourselves in the here and now can be truly transformative. In my practice, I focus on guiding clients to let go of excessive worries about the past or future, allowing them to fully experience and appreciate the present. Sometimes, the most powerful step forward is simply being who you are in the moment—without judgment or pressure to change. I encourage clients to embrace their authentic selves, fostering self-acceptance and inner calm. Through mindfulness practices and grounding techniques, I help clients develop the skills to stay centered, even in challenging times. This approach not only reduces stress but also nurtures a deeper sense of peace and purpose.
Creating lasting change can be challenging, and I understand that the process isn’t always straightforward. That’s why I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a key part of my practice. MI helps both me and my clients uncover their genuine desire for change, making the journey feel more intentional and achievable. Through open, non-judgmental conversations, MI allows us to explore the core reasons behind a client’s motivation to change. This process helps clients gain clarity about their own goals, values, and strengths, fostering a sense of ownership over their progress. By collaboratively identifying what truly matters to them, we can build a clearer path forward. This not only makes change more sustainable but also empowers clients to take meaningful, self-directed steps toward their personal growth.
Helping clients reconnect with their core values and authentic selves is a cornerstone of my practice. I believe that when individuals gain a deeper understanding of what truly matters to them, they can navigate life with greater purpose and intention. By guiding clients to explore their values, I help them gain a clearer sense of who they are at their core. This self-awareness not only fosters personal growth but also empowers clients to take charge of their own actions and decisions. It’s about shifting from feeling overwhelmed or uncertain to feeling grounded and aligned with one’s true self. This approach cultivates a sense of agency and helps clients see the bigger picture in their lives. Together, we work toward making choices that reflect their values, fostering a stronger sense of control and fulfillment.
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help adults who have experienced trauma regain control over their lives. Whether it’s from past abuse, loss, accidents, or other traumatic events, this approach provides a safe and supportive space to process painful memories and reduce symptoms like anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and emotional distress. My goal is to help you develop practical coping skills to manage stress and emotional regulation while working through the impact of trauma. We’ll focus on building resilience, improving emotional well-being, and fostering healthier thought patterns. Together, we’ll navigate the healing process so you can move forward with strength and confidence.
