Hi, my name is Jamie, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my master's from Antioch University. I have been working in the Mental Health field for over 17 years. I help individuals learn coping strategies to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression and other life stressors and challenges and assist clients in becoming the best version of themselves
Our first session will be a brief introduction and then a series of questions to gather more information on your specific challenges. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work on in follow up sessions.
In working with individuals, I have developed a playbook of skills to help you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress
I love working with individuals with a goal for change.
We first Identify negative thoughts, then challenge those negative thoughts, Once Identified challenge the accuracy or helpfulness of these thoughts? What evidence supports these thoughts? or is there another way to look at this situation?
Encouraging the client to tell the story of their loss, focusing on how they want to remember their loved one or adjust to the new reality. Work with the client to find ways to honor the memory of what they've lost or create new meaning in their lives moving forward.
Focusing on strengths and reinforce positive change, keeping the focus on progress.

I feel heard and not judged as I go through a separation with young children and pregnant. She tells me what I need to hear and supports how I do things even if I’m taking little steps towards doing what I can see is coming. She is open & honest, tells me where I went wrong and listens to why I did it and I’m not judged for being human. I like that she understands that I know where I went wrong and my intentions were and she can hear and support me as I navigate the heartbreak and understanding

Jamie Hawks was easy to talk to for my evaluation. When going through the initial survey questions, her response to my answers felt genuine and warm. Her demeanor was authentic and present in building a therapeutic relationship. She was sincere in our first session and made it easy for me to feel at ease. I look forward to our next session.
