Clients see me as a therapeutic guide. Signing up for therapy requires courage, and I’m proud of you for getting started. Digital lessons and exercises I’ll assign between sessions will allow you to practice your new skills. I am a licensed professional therapist. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families for over 10 years, treating stress, anxiety, grief, parenting issues, depression, and issues around life changes. I am an empty nester with an adult son who inspires me to change the world daily, one person at a time. I have two active cats who love cuddles and belly rubs. I enjoy watching HGTV, hiking, and spending quality time with my significant other and friends.
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive environment where they’ll have the chance to share what brought them to therapy and explore their goals. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so I prioritize building a safe and trusting space where they can open up at their own pace.
I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I will tailor our dialogue and treatment to meet your unique needs.
As a therapist specializing in working with clients who struggle with anxiety, I’m particularly equipped to support those who experience persistent worry, stress, or panic that impacts their daily life. I am best positioned to serve clients who are seeking practical, structured strategies to manage their anxiety, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and improve their overall quality of life.
I've been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for over 10 years, having first been trained during my Master program. Since then, I’ve completed advanced workshops and training specific to CBT applications for various mental health issues. I was drawn to CBT because of its structured approach to helping clients reframe negative thought patterns, which I find empowering for clients as they gain control over their own mental processes. In my practice, I use CBT techniques like cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure therapy (when relevant) to help clients manage issues such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. I work with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with more constructive ones, setting up actionable goals and exercises between sessions to reinforce these new skills.
