Hello, I’m Alison. Thanks for taking the first step. Have you been struggling with mental health symptoms despite your best effort to employ coping skills? Are you looking for individualized medication options? I am a PMHNP who utilizes a strengths-based approach. In our sessions together, I’ll meet you with compassion and evidenced-based psychopharmacological approaches so you can overcome life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s in Nursing Science from the University of Pennsylvania and was awarded UPenn’s First Global Nursing Fellowship in January 2018, where I worked in India for 3 months. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am part of UPenn’s School of Nursing teaching faculty, educating future PMHNPs in their advanced assessment and psychopharmacology courses.
For the initial session, I will ask a lot of questions in keeping with the standard psychiatric evaluation. We will discuss medication options, if appropriate, towards the end of the appointment.
In addition to a semi-structured interview, I use validated tools to assess and evaluate treatment. I provide referrals for neuropsychological testing as indicated.
I use compassion, and empathetic listening to work with a range of clients. I work with clients across the lifespan but especially enjoy working with adolescents, women’s issues, and the LGBTQIA population.
