I listen to you and work with you to recognize patterns of behaviors, emotions, reactions in your everyday interactions with others as well as how you are treating yourself. Incorporating change is not easy, but that will be the goal in any and all aspects of your life. I am a compassionate therapist, sometimes caring too much. That just denotes my goal of wanting the best for you.
During our first session, you will inform me as to why you have started this process. This may take more than one session. I also welcome you to inform me of your expectations and I let you know how I plan to meet them. If we agree to proceed in a therapeutic relationship, we will set goals that guide where we go from there.
My greatest strength is my compassion. Because I am caring and compassionate, I listen. And I think that is most important. Additionally, I challenge my clients. I ask questions to get you to think and, hopefully, inspire change.
I understand that therapy is not an easy journey to start. We will start where you are. As long as you can be open and honest, this process will work. I do my best to provide the environment for you to do so. I want you to be as comfortable as possible as that is the only way for this relationship to work.
We work together to recognize how your thoughts, emotions and behaviors are related and introduce change.
We focus on your strengths, positive attributes and behaviors to build solutions and overcome challenges.
We work to incorporate self-awareness to reduce stressors and reactions that do not serve you.
