LCSW, 6 years of experience
First, I want to acknowledge this courageous step you are taking to care for yourself. Whether it is with me or another another clinician, I hope you find beauty and empowerment in your self-discovery and healing. Through our work together, I will strive to create a secure environment that values your individuality and acknowledges your personal experiences. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, weaving together multiple evidence-based methods to tailor treatment that fits who you are, not the other way around. I strive to support with neutrality and challenge with curiosity.
In the first session, my goal is for you to leave feeling a sense of relief from being heard and understood, as well as hope and clarity about the steps ahead. I will invite you to share your story at your pace, with no judgment.
I will come to our space together with a sensitivity to the vulnerability that growth and self-discovery require. I strive to prioritize your strengths and seek collaboration throughout our time together.
I am particularly passionate about assisting individuals in finding their self-identity and boosting their confidence. I have extensive experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, as well as those dealing with anxiety-related disorders, depression, and life transitions including grief and loss.
I utilize the CBT model throughout my practice to help the client identify negative thought patterns and work collaboratively to find methods to challenge and change those thought patterns with an understanding that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors effect each other.
I utilize therapeutic techniques that are both researched-based and Biblically sound. However, it is the client's choice to which degree (or any) that explicit discussion of faith with be integrated in the therapeutic work.
I utilize the dual process grief model when support clients through their grief journey. I work alongside the client to identify loss-oriented and restorative-oriented activities and support the individual to find ways to oscillate or find balance between the two.
I value creating a secure environment that values your individuality, acknowledges your person experiences, and identifies your strengths. I believe all individuals in all situations have unique strengths that will aid them in reaching their goals.
I come to all sessions with a trauma-informed lens that will help guide my work. I recognize and respond to the impact of trauma on individuals.
