New to Grow
Hi there and welcome. My hope is that when you sit down with me, you'll feel like you're talking with someone who genuinely wants to know your story, without judgment or pressure. I believe that trust and genuine understanding help in establishing a good relationship and do my best to meet you where you are in your healing. Some people work best with worksheets, homework, visuals, or just check in's during sessions. We will work together to learn what works best for you. I have experience with kids, adolescents, and adults in group & individual therapy along with dual diagnosis. Outside of being a therapist, I'm a wife, a mom, and a former military spouse who has lived in several countries. Those experiences have taught me that life is full of change, unexpected challenges, and opportunities for growth. Each country and culture have their beliefs and traditions and influence who we are today and the way we see the world.
The first session is really about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and what the future looks like to you. I'll ask questions to better understand your story and see what your goals are. Therapy works best when there's trust and connection, and I believe that starts from our very first conversation. We will come up with mutually agreed upon goals and objectives, because your investment in this is just as important as mine.
I believe the best therapy starts with connection. Every person has a unique story, different strengths, and different needs. Some people need a soft place to land, while others want someone who will gently challenge them and help them see things from a different perspective. My job is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as we find what works best for you. As mentioned before, my life experiences help me better understand your concerns/worries because some things just can't be properly explained in textbooks; some things just need to be experienced to understand the impact on a person I have experience with CBT, DBT, Grounding, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strength Based Therapy, and Dual Diagnosis.
My ideal client is someone who is ready for change and understands that the process is not linear and will be uncomfortable at times. I really value working with people who are willing to engage in sessions, are open to new ways of thinking, and understand that change takes time. Some sessions will be easier than others, but as long as you keep showing up, you've already done half the work.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps us understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. The way we think about a situation affects how we feel and what we do next. In session, we look at what’s been going on in your life and look for patterns in your thoughts that may be unhelpful or getting in your way. We talk through those thoughts together, challenge those thoughts if needed, and try to find a more balanced ways of thinking or looking at things. We will learn practical tools you can use outside of therapy to help you cope with stress and manage difficult emotions.
