New to Grow
I’m a licensed therapist who believes people grow best when they feel understood, respected, and empowered. My style is warm, affirming, and open-minded, while also direct, engaging, and occasionally humorous. I value honest conversations, practical tools, and accountability; therapy should feel supportive and effective. I earned my graduate training in social work and have professional experience working with adults in community-based and high-acuity dual diagnosis settings. I primarily work with adults navigating anger management, substance abuse, ADHD, family and relationship challenges, and stress management. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, reactive, or stuck in patterns they want to change, and are ready for growth with the right support.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is focused on building connection, understanding what brings you to therapy, and clarifying what you want to work on. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and help you begin making sense of patterns, stressors, and goals. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable while also setting a clear direction for therapy; no pressure, no judgment.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my approach is the balance between practical, skill-based strategies and deeper emotional work. I don’t just provide a space to talk, I help clients actively build tools they can use in their daily lives to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and improve relationships. I take a structured and collaborative approach, integrating evidence-based methods such as CBT and DBT with trauma-informed care. Clients often leave sessions with clear insights, actionable steps, and a better understanding of how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I also focus on helping clients create lasting change, not just short-term relief.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop practical strategies to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and improve daily functioning. I take a collaborative and structured approach, incorporating real-life examples, skill-building, and between-session techniques to support lasting change.
Faith based therapy
I offer faith-based therapy for clients who want to incorporate their spiritual or religious beliefs into the healing process. I respectfully integrate faith, values, and personal beliefs alongside evidence-based practices to support emotional growth, resilience, and meaning-making.
Trauma Informed Care
I provide trauma-informed care by creating a safe, supportive environment that recognizes the impact of past experiences on present functioning. I work at a pace that feels comfortable for the client, focusing on building safety, trust, emotional regulation, and empowerment.
Strength-Based
I use a strength-based approach to help clients identify and build on their existing strengths, resilience, and resources. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I support clients in recognizing their abilities and using them to create meaningful and lasting change.
Psychodynamic
I use psychodynamic therapy to help clients gain insight into how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns influence their current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach supports deeper self-awareness and long-term emotional growth.
