Hello! I’m Sierra Trudel, PhD, a licensed professional counselor, certified school psychologist, and certified yoga teacher based in Connecticut. I use a variety of therapeutic and mind-body health techniques to provide clients with holistic care. I believe in using strengths-based approaches to tackle life’s challenges and firmly believe that relationships are the foundation of impactful care. Relationships include those with the self, others, the community, and our environments. Please email me to schedule a 15-minute complimentary consultation call to determine if I'm a good fit for your needs (sierra @ drsierratrudel.com). When scheduling your first intake appointment, please choose a virtual session - then during this time, we will discuss a plan for meeting via telehealth or in-person for walk-and-talk therapy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first therapy session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and establishing a comfortable, safe environment for you to share your thoughts and feelings. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, explore your goals, and begin to create a personalized plan for your journey toward well-being, healing, and growth. This initial meeting sets the foundation for a trusting therapeutic relationship and paves the way for future progress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths lie in my comprehensive and holistic approach to therapy. I integrate a variety of therapeutic techniques to provide clients with well-rounded, personalized care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As a therapist, I want to support your overall well-being and health. With youth, I support the development of confidence and self-concept through fostering independence, problem-solving, relationship skills, executive functioning skills, creativity, and resilience. I specialize in supporting children and women with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) through a holistic, affirming lens. I work to uncover and amplify strengths while helping clients build tools for focus, self-regulation, and self-understanding. For children, I often work with both the child and their caregivers to develop skills in emotional regulation, executive functioning, and relational problem-solving. For women with ADHD, I provide a space to explore how ADHD uniquely shows up in their lives. We’ll work together to deconstruct shame, build realistic routines, strengthen self-compassion, and develop sustainable systems for balance and growth. I offer developmentally attuned therapy for children and adolescents that honors each young person’s individuality, curiosity, and need for secure connection. My work is grounded in helping kids build a strong sense of self, learn to navigate emotions, and grow into confident problem-solvers and resilient humans. For young children, I primarily work with parents, partnering to support secure attachment, co-regulation, and positive routines at home. For tweens and teens, therapy may involve talk, movement, creativity, or outdoor sessions that invite meaningful exploration. Across all ages, I emphasize the development of executive functioning, social-emotional skills, and strengths-based identity through integrative, relationship-focused care. I help parents and caregivers nurture strong, connected relationships with their children—rooted in attachment, empathy, and positive development. Whether you’re navigating behavioral challenges, emotional outbursts, life transitions, or just seeking more clarity in your parenting, I offer a compassionate space to reflect, reset, and rebuild confidence. As a certified school psychologist, I also support families in navigating the special education process. Whether you're pursuing an evaluation, developing an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), or simply trying to understand your child’s learning and behavioral needs, I can help you advocate with clarity and confidence. I offer guidance around eligibility, communication with school teams, and how to integrate supports between home and school.
