Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, my primary focus is on creating a warm, comfortable space where we can begin building a strong therapeutic relationship at a pace that feels right for you. We will start wherever you feel most comfortable, without any pressure to dive into heavy topics right away. I view therapy as a collaborative effort—much like playing a game of tennis together on the same side of the net, where we work as a team and I provide you with practical tools to support your growth. During our time together, we will discuss mutual expectations, clarify what future sessions will look like, and ensure you have a clear understanding of how we will work together to help you achieve your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With almost over two decades of clinical experience, I bring a deeply empathetic, versatile, and culturally responsive approach to every therapy session. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I offer bilingual telehealth services to adults and seniors across California and Nevada, removing communication and geographical barriers to care. My practice draws from evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness—blended into an eclectic approach tailored to your unique journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My practice is best suited for adults and seniors who are ready to make meaningful, positive changes in their lives. My ideal client is goal-oriented and open to actively discussing the challenges, patterns, and habits that are holding them back. Therapy works best when it is a collaborative partnership; I thrive working with individuals who are committed to taking the insights and skills gained during our sessions and applying them in their daily lives. Growth doesn't happen overnight, and I meet you with patience and support as you build momentum and make progress little by little, step by step.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In our sessions, I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to help you explore how your thoughts directly impact your emotions and behaviors. When unhelpful or self-critical thoughts arise—like believing "I can never do anything right"—we will work together to gently examine and challenge those patterns. Rather than ignoring difficult feelings, we will look at the actual evidence, highlight your past successes, and reframe those automatic thoughts into balanced, realistic perspectives that empower you to move forward.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you manage anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and stress, burnout. Built on core pillars like acceptance, present-moment grounding, cognitive defusion, and values clarification, ACT teaches you to change your relationship with difficult thoughts rather than exhausting yourself fighting them. When distressing thoughts or feelings arise, we practice stepping back, grounding yourself in the present, and taking intentional, committed actions aligned with what matters most to you.

Faith based therapy

When we go through hard times, such as losing a loved one, dealing with constant anxiety, or working through tough family struggles—it affects every single part of who we are. In our sessions, we take a holistic, faith-based approach that brings together your mind, your body, and your spirit. We’ll look at how your thoughts and emotions connect with how your body physically holds stress, while using your faith as our primary anchor and guide. By integrating your spiritual beliefs into our work, we aren't just managing symptoms; we're actively drawing on your core values, prayer, and relationship with God to help you process pain, regain peace, and find strength to overcome life's difficulties.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

When we deal with low mood, stress, or chronic pain, our minds often go into overdrive trying to fight what we're feeling or worrying about what comes next. Mindfulness is simply a tool to help pause that battle and bring you back to the present moment. Instead of trying to force yourself to stop thinking or make discomfort magically disappear, we use gentle techniques—like focusing on your breath or noticing your physical surroundings—to anchor you right now. It helps train your mind and body to take a step back from overwhelming thoughts and physical tension, giving you more space to breathe, recharge, and feel more grounded in your day-to-day life.
