I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing expertise and over 9 years in psychiatry. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Chamberlain College of Nursing and a master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Loma Linda University. I serve patients 18 years and older with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, Alcohol Use Disorder, Maternal Mental Health Pre/Postpartum, Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in medication management and psychotherapy.

First session

I utilize an evidenced-based holistic approach balancing psychotherapy with a conservative and efficient medication management approach. Because every patient is unique, treatment is individualized and patient centered. I believe in listening to patients in a non-judgmental, respectful, compassionate and empathetic atmosphere as the first step to a therapeutic alliance for overcoming personal obstacles for a more fulfilling quality of life.

Strengths

My greatest strengths include extensive clinical experience across high-acuity inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, strong expertise in evidence-based medication management, and the ability to quickly build rapport with diverse patient populations. I provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care while remaining focused on accurate diagnosis, clinical stability, and practical treatment planning. I actively collaborate with patients to develop individualized plans of care and achievable treatment goals. I ensure that every patient leaves a session feeling educated about their diagnosis and medications, validated in their experience, and empowered to begin their healing journey. I am also highly skilled in-patient education, supportive engagement, and clear communication that promotes understanding, trust, and long-term treatment success.

Ideal clients

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in inpatient, outpatient, telepsychiatry, correctional, and private practice settings. I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults experiencing conditions such as ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, substance use, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and maternal mental health concerns. I provide compassionate, evidence-based, individualized care focused on stabilization, symptom management, and improved functioning.

Treatment methods

Supportive

Supportive therapy is a patient-centered approach that focuses on strengthening coping skills, emotional regulation, and overall functioning through validation, active listening, and practical guidance. In my practice, it is integrated into clinical care to provide psychoeducation, reinforce strengths, and help patients manage stressors while supporting ongoing diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning.

Psychoeducation

In practice, it involves explaining things in a clear, practical way—such as how conditions like ADHD, anxiety, or depression affect the brain and behavior, what symptoms to expect, and how medications or coping strategies can help.

She is great! She really listens to my concerns and has been tremendously helpful. I’m finally starting to feel like myself so I am happy she is my provider.
