Hi there, I'm Lauren- thanks for checking out my profile, I'm glad that you're here! I live in CT with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. I've been in the field since 2018 and became a fully licensed LPC in 2021. I enjoy working with a wide range of clients experiencing anxiety, depression, or difficulty with recent life adjustments. I also enjoy working on building communication skills, increasing self esteem, and exploring boundaires- how to set them and how to honor them.
I feel that the foundation to success in therapy is trust in the therapeutic relationship- this is why I like to take the first few sessions getting to know one another. You are the expert of your life, not me! I find that it's so important for you to share your story with me- this will look different from client to client but at baseline learning what brought you to therapy, and a bit about your past/ history. From there- we will work together to come up with a treatment plan that feels comfortable to reach your goals.
My biggest strength as a provider is that I'm a regular person- just like you! I don't pretend to be someone I'm not in session and that's what my clients share they like about me. I'm going to meet you where you're at- without judgement. Ready to listen, and support you in whatever way is best for you.
I love working with clients who are motivated to make a change- you know that something's "not quite right" but you're unsure of exactly what, or where to start. I try to incorporate humor into my sessions and I'll always meet you where you're at.
During our work together, I will meet you where you're at assessing the best course of treatment to assist you in reaching your goals. One of these interventions may be Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Using CBT, we will explore how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are all related- impacting your overall mood, functioning, relationships and more.
