Hello Sunshine! Wouldn't we all love to feel like we are the "sunshine" in someone else's day, or that we can even be that sunshine for ourselves? I believe it's very possible! With the help of strategies such as talk therapy and medication management (along with other healthy lifestyle choices) it can be your reality! And just as tending to a garden includes utilizing multiple strategies to see a harvest, that's exactly how we'll approach your mental health care. We will look at "the big picture" to ensure safe, timely and effective care. I come from a background of Preventative Health and Wellness, as well as Family Medicine, and have worked for over a dozen years with patients of all ages in the Mental Health field. Mental Health is my passion and I hope we'll make it yours as well!

I'd have to say my favorite part of my mental health career is treating ADHD, as I am ADHD and see this "disorder" as bringing so many strengths with it.

First session

Our initial evaluation together will be a "get to know you" time in which I'll ask all sorts of questions about your background. This enables me to get as big a picture of you as possible, right off the bat! But as with any relationship, we'll learn more about each other with time, and this is meant to be not only a helpful connection, but fun!

Strengths

I believe my biggest strength is that I was born an empath! I tend to hone in pretty easily on how others feel, and therefore try to use this strength to better understand my clients, and give them better outcomes with the care I provide them. I do find most aspects of mental health quite fascinating, whether it be Bipolar, Personality Disorders, Anxiety or Depression, you name it! I'd have to say my favorite part of my mental health career is treating ADHD, as I am ADHD and see this "disorder" as bringing so many strengths with it.

Barb is by far the best provider for medication management I have ever had. From the first session, I could feel her warmth and authenticity, which led me to trust her judgement regarding the prescribing of medications. Barb really takes the time to listen to my concerns and the things I am struggling with, and she is open minded to ideas I bring to the table as well as willing to weigh pros and cons of suggestions I have. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful provider.
