Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S) based in Texas. I earned my Master's degree from the University of Houston and have been working as a Mental Health Therapist for 15 years. I specialize in assisting adolescents, and adults who are dealing with the adverse impacts of depression, anxiety, anger management, and trauma on their daily lives and relationships.
In our first meeting, we will begin with short introductions and then address the specific challenges you are facing. This will enable us to develop a personalized plan for our future sessions.
As an experienced mental health and social work professional, I will consistently demonstrate dedication, empathy, and support to ensure you are heard and understood without judgment or criticism.
I enjoy working with individuals who are open to acknowledging their challenges and are motivated to make positive and long-lasting changes in their lives.

During our sessions, we work collaboratively to identify the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors negatively impacting your normal functioning and relationships. You will be assisted with establishing targeted goals, working through intense emotional experiences, implementing healthy coping strategies, and improving your quality of life.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) typically consists of 12 to 16 sessions and is focused on addressing challenging relationships with others to alleviate mental health symptoms like depression, grief, and interpersonal deficits. Throughout IPT, we will work together to gain a better understanding of your emotions and how they influence your relationships, as well as how your relationships impact your emotions.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a 12-session therapy that has been found effective for individuals diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). During the therapy process, we will examine the impact a traumatic event has had on your life. Throughout our collaboration, you will be assisted in identifying unhelpful thoughts and feelings related to your outlook on yourself, others, and the world. In this way, you will develop skills that will help you reflect upon, redefine, and recover from the trauma.
During my 10 years working in Hospice Care, I have had the honor of providing counseling to individuals and families who have experienced the significant loss of a loved one. Through the grieving process, I help develop coping skills to facilitate a healthy grieving process and ultimately reach a point of acceptance regarding the loss.
During our sessions, we will work together to develop your motivation and create positive change in your life. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication highlighted by particular attention to the language of change. It aims to reinforce personal motivation for a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion (Miller & Rollnick, 2013, p. 29).
