Hi Im a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) based in North Carolina. I received my masters from Liberty University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with children (5 years and older) , adults, couples, and families. I have over ten years of counseling experience in outpatient and residential services providing individual, family, and group therapy.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we start building rapport through introductions. A collaborative approach will be utilized where client and myself will work together to identify concerns, treatment goals, and a plan to reach goals.

A therapeutic relationship will be established between client and myself through rapport building and reflective listening.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with clients who desire a change and needs support in starting the change process through goal setting, developing coping skills, and/or connecting to resources. These clients often feel unheard or unseen and could benefit from validation and support.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Theoretical approaches that are evidenced based will be selected that will allow me to facilitate the change process to support client’s goals. Some techniques used are supported by modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems.

Mrs. Tonya's profile stood out to me. One, overall warmth on her face and in her eyes, I could see she cares about what she does. When we talk with her, she listens and she is patient with us. She gives us tools to use outside of our sessions. They work when done correctly. Mrs. Tonya makes sure she answers our questions and does not judge the things we say. We could not have found a better therapist.
