Hi, I'm Richard, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I bring nearly two decades of healthcare experience and hold dual certifications from both the ANCC and AANP. My Master's Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University, coupled with my PMHNP specialization from Western Kentucky University, equips me to provide comprehensive mental health care. My approach centers on empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices, fostering a safe environment where you can freely express yourself. Together, we'll navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, while also focusing on personal growth and resilience. I'm committed to partnering with you on your journey towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
In your first session with me, you can expect: A warm, professional welcome and orientation to the process Comprehensive but conversational assessment of your concerns Time to share your story and ask questions Clear explanations of any diagnoses and treatment options Collaborative planning for next steps
My greatest strengths as a provider include: Medical-Psychiatric Integration I bring a unique perspective that bridges physical and mental health care, allowing me to provide truly comprehensive treatment. Therapeutic Relationship Building I excel at creating a safe, accepting space where clients feel heard and understood. My nursing background enhances my ability to connect with clients authentically. Individualized Care Planning Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor treatment plans to each client's specific needs, preferences, and circumstances. Patient Education I'm skilled at explaining complex medical and psychiatric concepts in understandable terms, helping clients become active participants in their care. Collaborative Approach I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, working together with clients to achieve their goals rather than dictating treatment.
As a PMHNP, I am uniquely positioned to serve a wide range of clients, but my most effective work will likely be with: Clients needing combined medication management and therapy Adults with common mental health disorders (depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc.) Clients with dual diagnosis (mental health + substance use) Those requiring ongoing psychiatric medication management Clients needing crisis intervention and stabilization My advanced practice nursing background gives me distinct advantages in: Taking a holistic, whole-person approach Understanding medical comorbidities Providing comprehensive care coordination Offering both pharmacological and therapeutic interventions
Humanistic
I use Humanistic treatment method in caring for my patients through the following: -Treating each patient as a unique individual capable of growth -Building authentic therapeutic relationships -Allowing patients to guide their healing journey -Using experiential techniques that promote self-discovery -Maintaining cultural sensitivity and ethical boundaries

Dr. Anane was very attentive and listened to what I had to say. He paid attention to my concerns as well as provided ways that would help me cope in order for me to get through each day. He also wasn’t quick to just prescribe me medication and he was very encouraging and I appreciate that so very much.

I have been dealing with depression for 25 years. Richard took the time with me and did a thorough assessment. He is by far the best! My depression is a 0 for the first time in 25 years! I highly recommend him!
