Francis Okafor
If you've been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or disconnected from yourself, you're not alone—and you don't have to navigate it by yourself. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, life transitions, or simply feeling like you've lost your sense of balance, therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and begin healing. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we'll look beyond symptoms to better understand the experiences, patterns, and stressors that may be affecting your emotional well-being. Every treatment plan is personalized because your story, strengths, and goals are unique. Our work may include medication management, supportive therapy, practical coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and lifestyle approaches designed to help you feel your best.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative — I see mental health as deeply connected to the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
First session
Your first appointment is an opportunity to tell your story in a comfortable, compassionate environment. We'll discuss what has been bringing you stress or emotional pain, how it's affecting your daily life, and what you hope to accomplish through treatment. You'll never be pressured to share more than you're ready to. Instead, we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable while gathering the information needed to understand your concerns and create a treatment plan that fits your needs. By the end of our session, you'll have a clearer understanding of your goals, available treatment options, and the next steps toward feeling better.
Strengths
Healing is more than reducing symptoms—it's about helping you build a life that feels balanced, meaningful, and authentic. My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic, recognizing the connection between your mind, body, and overall well-being. I believe the best outcomes happen when you feel respected, understood, and actively involved in your care. Together, we'll focus on building practical tools, increasing self-awareness, strengthening resilience, and developing strategies that support lasting emotional wellness. Whether your treatment includes therapy, medication management, or both, every decision is made collaboratively with your goals at the center.
Ideal clients
I work with adults who are ready to invest in their emotional well-being and create meaningful change. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, you'll find a supportive environment where your concerns are taken seriously and your progress is celebrated. If you're looking for compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care that treats you as a whole person—not just a diagnosis—I'm here to help you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore your feelings about change and tap into your own motivation for making it happen. This approach is collaborative and nonjudgmental — I meet you where you are and help you clarify what matters most to you. Motivational Interviewing works well for anyone who wants to make meaningful changes in their life but may feel stuck, unsure, or hesitant about the next step. Together, we’ll explore your goals, identify small, achievable steps, and build a plan that feels realistic and empowering — helping you move forward at your own pace.
