Hello, my name is Verona. I'm a dual board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar, and mood disorders to gain insight into their illness, as well as help them cope through therapy and medicinal intervention to become the best version of themselves.

I have a strong background in psychiatric care and understand the complexities of mental health disorders, which allows me to offer personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each individual.

I provide a secure and private environment where each person feels heard and empowered to pursue a clear recovery path. As time is our most valuable commodity, I enjoy working with clients who entrust their care to me.

First session

In our initial meeting, we'll start with a quick introduction and then get into the particular difficulties you're encountering. This will assist me in developing a specific strategy for us to work through in subsequent sessions.

Strengths

As a mental health nurse practitioner, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to listen to my clients, while empathizing with the challenges they are facing. I provide a secure and nonjudgmental environment in which to share ideas and emotions. I have a strong background in psychiatric care and understand the complexities of mental health disorders, which allows me to offer personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each individual. I take the time to discuss drugs, including adverse effects and projected treatment results. I am present in the moment with my clients which enables me to effectively collaborate with them, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

Ideal clients

I love working with clients ages 17 and older, as well as healthcare professionals who have given so much of themselves to others who feel burnt out, unappreciated, and overwhelmed in school, work, or having relationship issues. I can help. If you don't have the tools to regain insight, I can help. If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder, feeling overwhelmed by your illness, and seeking a professional who can assist you in overcoming these challenges, I can help.

I’ve only had one session with Ms. Gordon so far, but I was immediately impressed by how warm, genuine, and easy to talk to she was. She was encouraging and uplifting in a way that felt completely authentic, never forced or disingenuous. I felt comfortable and supported from the start and left the session feeling genuinely hopeful about continuing to work with her.

I've waited months to do a review. I'm usually skeptical of Dr's that deal with my mental health due to horrible experiences over a decade. But I finally found someone I trust. It's clear Dr. Gordon is knowledgeable and passionate about her job. She cares about her clients and I like that she explains why certain things/medications work the way they do. I've had other Psychs give up after trying a couple of things, but Dr. Gordon hasn't given up yet. So I do highly recommend seeing her.

I have seen NP Gordon for over a year. She was the first provider to help me with my ADHD. She takes the time to know her patients and makes them feel comfortable. I'm very grateful for her help. I would highly recommend her.
