Ideal clients

I am best equipped to serve people who recognize that things are not feeling the way they want them to feel. There are a million different reasons why things just don't feel right, and I am here to walk alongside clients to help them discover their most authentic way of being and what works best for them. I believe that to make the changes we want to see, we need to understand why things have been the way they are and where we come from. Change, letting go of patterns that used to serve us, and facing difficult facets of our pasts are hard, but they are necessary to help us grow into who we want to be. I am here to assist in that journey.

Treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I have received extensive training in motivational interviewing, and like to use these concepts to explore client's feelings about change. We work to investigate what's working and what's not, and we aim to make change feel more accessible (and less scary!)

Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS)

I am a CAMS trained counselor and work to actively end the stigma of suicidality. With CAMS, the goal is to stabilize clients so they do not need to seek emergency room or psychiatric care. CAMS allows therapist and client to explore what is driving the suicidality and work to mange its root causes.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has a wide array of uses. With CBT, we are able to analyze client thought patterns and work to reframe and rebuild new, more effective ways of thinking. CBT allows up to practice emotion recognition & regulation skills, as well as investigate which thought patterns are working and which are not.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT offers many hands-on skills to help improve one's day-to-day experience. In addition to emotion regulation skills, DBT can help with building confidence, coping skills, and distress tolerance.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

When we are living in our values, we can live with the confidence that we are living as our authentic selves. I work with clients to find what is most important to them so we can build coping strategies that align with who they are and what they care about.
