Hello and welcome. My name is Amy. Have you been struggling with anxious thoughts and panic attacks? Do you have trouble detangling yourself from obsessive thinking? Have you recently gone through a major life change and find that you are feeling a little lost? I work with individuals who are ready to calm the anxiety within and move into a place of greater peace and contentment. We will work together to identify the anxious thoughts and behavior patterns keeping you stuck and create new pathways to get you moving again. In addition to cognitive behavioral techniques, I also utilize mindfulness, with an emphasis on self compassion and self care. Whether you have experienced anxiety for as long as you can remember or have recently gone through a major life change such as welcoming a new baby, job promotion or job loss, divorce, or death of a loved one, I am here to help you navigate through the storm and establish your 'new normal.' I believe we are all trying our best. It takes great courage to examine yourself and even greater courage to share your inner thoughts and feelings with another person. I honor that and will work with you to help you find your way to greater fulfillment and peace. I look forward to meeting you!

My treatment methods

Supportive

This method has been useful when working with individuals seeking therapy because they are going through a difficult adjustment or life transition (think divorce, career change, having a baby.) This approach provides emotional support, normalization of experiences and validation of feelings, as well as offering reassurance.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This treatment method can be helpful when working with individuals seeking therapy because they are having a difficult time making choices that feel right to them. ACT helps individuals learn to accept all of their feelings and identify their values, encouraging decision making based on those values which can be helpful when going through difficult circumstances or changes.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I use this approach when working with individuals struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder and panic disorder. This approach works to expose individuals to whatever is making them anxious and then helping them adjusting their response to it.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Very useful interventions related to adjusting thought and behavior patterns in order to change how you feel.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Useful for learning how to regulate your emotions and increase your distress tolerance.
