I am a Latinx somatic psychotherapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor with over 20 years of experience in providing therapeutic trauma informed services to teens, individuals, and families. I have years of experience with community-based programs, government agencies and private practice. I specialize in helping clients with interpersonal & relationship difficulties, career frustrations, complex trauma, family violence, sexual assault, depression, and anxiety.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will have introductions and describe my experience. We will spend time orienting into the therapy space and explore reasons for your interest in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach is rooted in creating a culturally sensitive and safe space for clients to explore and process their experiences; therefore, I’ve worked and will continue to work on offering a non-judgmental and compassionate environment for the people I serve.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

The BIPOC and 2SLGTBQIA+ communities face barriers to accessing care. I work to do my part in eliminating barriers and decolonizing mental health services by being flexible with scheduling and session frequency. I believe that everyone deserves access to culturally appropriate care.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I use EMDR to relieve symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, as well as to process many other issues and life stressors.

Somatic

Somatic embodiment is a practice in psychotherapy that involves connecting with your body and thoughts to explore the relationship between your physical being and your energy with sessions as a way of helping clients to integrate their system after trauma.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma is disorienting and interferes with our self-concept. Recovery from trauma is a process, and it's important to check in frequently in sessions. I believe it's also important to identify markers in therapy so you can see concrete evidence of your progress. I am person centered and offer grounding exercises, psychoeducation, and somatic embodiment therapy.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

My approach is rooted in creating a culturally sensitive and safe space for clients to explore and process their experiences. I believe that no two people are the same, and tailor my interventions to the unique needs of clients.
